Jonesing Over Jolie!

Jolie in Coronado is one of those rare places that makes you pause mid-bite and think, this is why we go out to eat. I started with the bread and butter, but this was no ordinary starter. The Parker House rolls were pillowy perfection, paired with Calabrian chili butter that brought the right amount of heat, pork butter that added a decadent richness, and bright house pickles to cut through it all. Simply put: insanely delicious.

Next, the shrimp and melon salad. This dish has collected local awards, and after one forkful, I understood why. Heirloom shrimp mingled with sweet melon, serrano chili, cucumber, fresh mint, crème fraîche, vinaigrette, and a sprinkle of crispy quinoa. The balance was immaculate: sweet, spicy, refreshing, creamy, and crunchy all at once. It was top tier. Just so good. The roasted Brussels sprouts with andouille sausage nearly stole the show. Brown butter, saba, and a dusting of arrabbiata salata gave the dish layers of depth, smoky, nutty, savory, with just the right pop of spice. OMG-worthy doesn’t even cover it!

And then, the crab toast. A jewel of a dish: jumbo lump crab crowned with caviar and kissed with tarragon. It was delicate, briny, and utterly exquisite, a toast that redefines the word “luxury.” To finish, I had the vanilla ice cream with olive oil and pistachios. It was simple yet elevated, the olive oil adding a silky richness while the pistachios brought just the right crunch. A perfect ending to an already incredible meal. Every plate at Jolie Coronado feels like a statement: bold, confident, and unforgettable. This is a restaurant that doesn’t just serve food, it crafts experiences.
